Eleanor Lou Dudley was born October 3, 1924 in Exeter, Nebraska and grew up in the Omaha area. Lou became a Stewardess for United Airlines and moved to New York City in the late 1940s. She remained active in the Northern Wings organization as a retired stewardess. She married Robert Rockefeller Duncan on May 21, 1949 and were married for 67 years until her husband passed away in November 2017. She lived in Moorestown, NJ (1949-1952), San Antonio (1952-1954), TX, Northbrook, IL (1954-1958), before settling down in New Providence, NJ for 35 years (1958-1993). She and her husband moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1993.
She was an avid reader of books, magazines, and newspapers. She loved walking and bike riding and took four bike tours in France and Austria with her husband. She was an active retiree in Fort Collins and Windsor.
Lou had four children: Robert Rockefeller Duncan Jr., Ann Brooke Duncan (deceased), Scott Wiggins Duncan, and Thomas Fleming Duncan; and six grandchildren, Brooke Ann Folkrod, John Folkrod, Evan Rockefeller Duncan, Forrest Colwell Duncan, Benjamin Scott Duncan, and two great granddaughters, Nora Ann Folkrod, and Mary Teresa Folkrod. She always put her family first. Lou will be missed as a loving mother and grandmother.
A memorial service for Eleanor will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Allnutt Drake Chapel, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado 80526. A reception will occur Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Allnutt Drake Chapel Reception Center, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colorado 80526. A cremation will occur.
