Dennis Neal Olson

Dennis was born in Hutchinson, MN, the youngest son of Virgil & Ida (Flemming) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Main Street Lutheran Church by Rev. N.B. Hanson. He attended school at District 41 in Heatwole and Hutchinson Public Schools, graduating in 1956. He served 8 years in the Army National Guard. In 1956, he married Marea Sturges. They had two children, James and Julie. In 1965, he married Judy Hammerstrom. They had two children, Scott & Kristi. In 1987, he married Gayle Hatfield.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roger and Earl; and his son, Scott.

He is survived by his son, James and partner Jennifer Baird; daughters Julie and husband Greg Schreader, Kristi and partner Angie Sanford; and Scott's partner, Dan Hill. He is also survived by grandchildren, Angie Reed and husband Kevin, Olivia Roth and husband BJ, Griffin Schreader and Kylie Olson; great grandkids, Trey, Cheyenne, Shawnee (Brian Moore) and Sebastian Reed; and great great granddaughter, Leah. He is also survived by his sister in laws, Darlene Olson and Diane Olson; and nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. He also had two step-daughters, Tammy O'Bannon and Cindy Ankney, six step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
