Dale was born to Velma E. (Harrison) and Ernest L. Clausen on July 11th, 1948 in Casper, Wyoming. Dale and his two sisters, Virginia and Lucille, were raised in a good home by loving parents. He graduated from Midwest High School in Midwest, Wyoming in 1966. Following high school, he earned his Automotive Technician certification and worked for Sears.
Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army, starting in the reserves and finishing under active duty. During his term of service with the Army, Dale was a combat engineer and retired as Master Sergeant after 35 years. Dale was not known for having idle hands. Following his retirement from the armed forces, he worked as an electrician.
On June 30th, 1967, Dale married the only woman he ever loved, Bonnie W. Allen. Dale and Bonnie had celebrated 43 wonderful years together before her passing in 2010. They had wed close to home in Mills, Wyoming but relocated to Denver, Colorado in the early 1970s. While living in Denver a son, Clifford Dale, was born. They moved again to Fort Collins in June of 1975 and their family was complete when they welcomed their second son, Kaycee Len. The Clausen family settled in Windsor, Colorado in August of 1984.
Dale lived his life in the service of others. He had a heart of gold and never knew a stranger. He was accomplished but remained humble. His love was always on display through his acts of giving of himself to help others. Though he was kind and generous to all, he always had a special spot in his heart for children. He was always quick with words of encouragement for his children, his grandchildren, and their friends. He was also a member of the American Legion and loved to hunt and fish, when he wasn’t busy supporting his kids.
Dale was the greatest example of what a man, son, brother, and a father should be. As he was raised in a good and loving home, so were his boys. Of all the amazing things he did in his life, being a loving and supportive husband and father were the most important. He held his family near to his heart. He was a very special man and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Dale leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his children and their children. His son Clifford D. Clausen, wife Sarah L. (Sowadski) Clausen and their children, Cinnamon Angel & Zechariah Clifford, and his son Kaycee L. Clausen, wife Messina F. (Janssen) and their children, Morgan Belle & Savanna Rose will carry on his tradition of love and family. He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia A. (Clausen) Sloan and Lucille M. (Clausen) Williams. Dale is welcomed into the ever after by his loving wife, Bonnie W. (Allen) Clausen, his parents, Ernest & Velma Clausen, and by his brothers-in-law, George N. Dobson and Leonard A. Williams.
