Cindy Martin was born on November 11,1958, to William and Marcia Martin in Amarillo, Texas. She met Randy Myers, the love of her life, while they were attending Amarillo College. They married in 1978 to start an epic life together. Cindy and Randy went on to have children, Robert and Sarah. They were her pride and joy, and she regularly said she couldn’t have asked for better children.
She is survived by her husband Randy; children Robert and Sarah; brother David Martin, his wife Holly and their son Brooks; sister Lisa Rosales and her husband Francisco; and countless friends and colleagues. She always made it clear that family and friends were most important.
After receiving her master’s degree, she practiced occupational therapy in schools, hospitals and non-profit settings throughout her impressive career. She was also a university instructor in the field of occupational therapy for fourteen years while working on her doctorate degree in special education. Cindy’s life mission was to change the world one child and family at a time. She felt that her greatest achievement was creating an activity-based social skills program for children on the autism spectrum. Cindy strongly believed that we should never stop learning and instilled the importance of asking questions. She always looked forward to the next educational adventure.
