Christine Glover, resident of Fort Collins, CO, died of natural causes resulting from a 4 year battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia on Monday, October 28, 2019, one day short of her 79th birthday.
Christine is survived by her 3 daughters: Nicole Sampson and her husband, Vic; Coleen Kreikemeier and her husband, Tyler; and Lisa Stenzel; and her eight grandchildren: Jacob Glover, Kelsy Kreikemeier, Emma Blandford, Ian Sampson, Trey Kreikemeier, Sonja Sampson, Madison Blandford and Paige Sampson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Norma Fischer, and her grandson, Ty Stenzel.
Christine was born on October 29, 1940 in Cleveland, OH to Howard and Ruth Effland Fischer. She attended Cleveland Lutheran High School. She met Arthur Glover in June 1961 at a softball game. They were married the following summer on August 18, 1962 in Cleveland, OH. In August 1964, they decided to move west for better job opportunities and settled in Fort Collins, CO where Arthur’s parents lived. They had 3 daughters who Christine devoted her life to up to the very end of her life. She worked various bank jobs before being hired at Woodward Governor, first as a key-punch operator, then as a switchboard operator and shipping clerk. She retired after 19 years in 1996, although she went on to work a variety of other jobs, so she never truly retired.
Christine was a woman with a heart of gold and a kind disposition for anyone she met. She lived her life with strength, dignity, honesty and love. She opened her home to anyone and provided a safe place for all her children’s friends over the years. She was an active 4-H leader, bowler, volunteer, mother, grandmother and friend. She leaves behind a legacy to follow about how to live life and has created a void that can never be filled.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 pm, November 20, 2019, at Harmony Presbyterian Church, 400 East Boardwalk Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525. Pastor Gus Wright will officiate. Flowers, donations and condolences can be offered at that time. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Peaks Center for their care, dedication and kindness towards Christine over the last 2 ½ years.
