Brian Mowery, born on May 6, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. He was the beloved son of Goldie and Howard Mowery. During his childhood, Brian and his family moved several times, eventually settling in Pennsylvania, where he graduated from high school. Although his family later relocated to Oklahoma, Brian remained in Pennsylvania to attend Penn State University.
Growing up, Brian excelled as a multi-sport athlete, competing in soccer, football, and wrestling. His passion for football led him to play as a fullback at Penn State, where he embodied strength and teamwork both on and off the field.
Family was one of Brian’s greatest blessings. He always dreamed of becoming a father and welcomed his first son, Brian Lee, with his wife Nita. When his mother got sick, Brian moved to Oklahoma, and after her passing, he began working as a landman with Texas Oil and Gas. While living in Oklahoma, he met and married Kathy, and together they welcomed two more sons, Justin and Jon. As a father, Brian found immense joy in coaching his sons at every practice, game, and pep talk. Whether coaching from the sidelines, cheering from the stands, or throwing a ball in the backyard, Brian was a dedicated father who loved to see his sons succeed.
Brian's professional journey took him to Binghamton, NY, where he worked as a Regional Manager for Forney Industries. An opportunity developed which moved him to Colorado, where he married Jan, the love of his life, in 2006. Together, they embraced new opportunities and purchased Casey’s Car Wash in 2008, a business that became an important part of their lives. Brian had a keen interest in real estate and commercial development, continually expanding his entrepreneurial pursuits.
An adventurer at heart, Brian thrived outdoors and loved anything with a motor. He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, jet skiing, 4-wheeling, and snowmobiling, always chasing the thrill of the next adventure. Some of the most cherished memories he created with his sons included riding 4-wheelers in Grand Lake, family trips to Fox Park riding snowmobiles, and bonding over their shared love for sports. Becoming Grandpa was one of his greatest joys, whether he was surprising his grandchildren for dinner out, attending soccer games, motorcycle rides or bringing joy to all the birthday parties; he loved creating memories with his grandchildren. Brayden, Grayson, Easton, Cooper, and Cali will forever miss their Grandpa.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Jan Mowery; his siblings Nancy (Andy), Debbie (Charles), and Holly (JB); his sons Brian Lee (Kellie), Justin (Courtney), and Jon (Carly); and his five adored grandchildren. He is also fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
