Ann was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 2, 1930 to Ruth and Donald Brady. She was raised in Topeka and graduated from Highland Park High School, where she had been crowned Homecoming Queen, in 1948. Ann married her high school sweetheart, Glen Orin Gates, in 1949 in Topeka. They were blessed with three children, Trish, Glenda and Mike. In 1967, they moved to Loveland and always viewed it as a blessing to have lived here. Ann and Glen had celebrated 73 beautiful years together at the time of his passing in 2023.
In addition to being a loving wife and devoted mother of three, grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother of eight, Ann was a grocery business owner and bookkeeper for the family business. She loved her family, friends, and the mountains. She loved the birds and the butterflies and drives in the country. Ann enjoyed day trips to Estes Park, fishing, and camping. Most of all, she loved being with her family and looking after her beloved grandchildren. She led a Bible Study Fellowship for eight years and was a volunteer at MCR for six years. She also volunteered for her children’s activities and loved it. Ann loved the Lord. She loved America and all her freedoms. And she loved Colorado. She was a dedicated, loyal, and loving wife and mother. She will be dearly missed.
Ann’s legacy of faith and family will continue on in her children Patricia Riccio (Tony), Glenda Newton (Rick) and Mike Gates (Teresa); grandchildren, Ben Newton (Stephanie), Ryan Gates (Cassie), Rachel Leith (David), Aaron Riccio (Shay), Elizabeth Melino (Jason), David Gates (Erin), and Alysse Riccio; and her great-grandchildren, Helena, Harrison, Grady, Abby, Jacob, Henry, Keanan, and Rowan. Ann is also survived by her sister, Donna Brady-Bohm.
She is greeted in Heaven by her beloved husband of 73 years, Glen Gates, her brother, Francis James Brady, and by her parents.
