Lovel Woodrow Walker

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Chester Gap Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Carney officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Family Cemetery.

Mr. Walker was born in Peters Creek, WV on April 5, 1916 a son of the late Wesley W. and Myrtle Sparks Walker. He was a supply clerk supervisor for the National Institute of Health. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was a member of the Front Royal Masonic Lodge, a Deacon with over 50 years service to various churches. He enjoyed fishing and anything to do with trains. Mr. Walker was a great Christian witness, he was a member of the Chester Gap Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Williams of MO; his grandchildren, Wanda Burns, Vicki Jowell and Ronald Williams, Jr.; his sisters, Louise Jones and Peggy Wynock, his 10 great-grandchildren and his 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Lois E. Walker (nee Cook) in 2011 and his sister, Sylvia Jones.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of the church, Bill Campbell, Charlie Frazier, Ashby Boone, Floyd Lilly, Jeff Williams and J.C. Rudacille. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Williams and Mickey Williams.
