Lewis L. Miller, Jr., age 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at home in Linden, Virginia.
Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Lew joined the Navy and was a WWII Veteran. He worked for the Railroad and later owned Miller’s Variety Store in Juniata and finished his career as a Licensed Insurance Agent before retiring and moving to Virginia to be closer to his children. Lew enjoyed coaching baseball for the Altoona youth, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Riggles Gap Beagle Club and the Pennington Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Charmaine McGuire Miller; three children, Dennis Lewis Miller of Centreville, Virginia; Russell Warren Miller, of Charlottesville, Virginia; Pauline Miller Dent of Clifton, Virginia; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two sisters, Betty Lightner of Holidaysburg, Pa. and JoAnn Niswonger of Chula Vista, Ca.
Lew will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with Military honors at a later date.
