Ervin Houston Porter

Ervin H. Porter affectionately known as Piper, departed this life August 14, 2013 at his home following a brief illness. Piper was born in Warren County on September 3, 1941 to the late William (Rufus) Porter and the late Margaret Brooks.

Piper enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and playing cards with his friends on Tuesday night.

In addition to his parents Piper was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Jean Frye and his sister Doris Jean Porter.

He leaves to mourn his children, L’Tanya (Harold) of Triangle, Geraline (Lemuel) of Woodbridge, Jonathan of Temple Hills, Maryland, Deborah (William), Brenda (Keith), and Ervin, Jr (Felicia) all of Detroit, Michigan, Norman of Winchester, Orlando and Shakira of Front Royal; his brothers, Maurice Porter of Front Royal, Ronald, Donald, and Thomas Porter of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Stanley Porter of Tampa, Florida; his sister, Frances Porter of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his seventeen grandchildren; and his fourteen great-grandchildren.

Piper also leaves to mourn a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and two long time devoted friends, Tyrone Baltimore and Brenda Cecil.
