Sylvia Guajardo Deller

Sylvia Guajardo Deller was born on July 21st, 1955 in Harlingen, Texas. She passed away peacefully on March 20th, 2025 in Plano, Texas. Sylvia escaped death twenty years ago when doctors gave her a week to live with a fatal illness. Before and after that prognosis, Sylvia lived according to her vitality and generosity of spirit, never deterred by life’s demands. Sylvia was a tireless pillar of the family from a young age. Her love and friendship is a cherished blessing. Sylvia was most proud of her children’s success and happiness, always offering to help and cheering for their goals. Sylvia also found tremendous joy in spending time with her granddaughter Olivia and having new adventures together. Without exaggeration Sylvia was an unrivaled cook with treasured recipes from her mother and grandmother. Her memories are translated into our traditions and meals to be enjoyed forever.

Sylvia is preceded in passing by her mother Eva, sister Cyndi, brother David and other extended family members. Sylvia is survived by her father Andres, brother Andres Jr., her three children, Jennifer (John), Alyse Yvonne, and Arthur (Brittany), and granddaughter Olivia as well as a loving family in South Texas.

Close family are gathered this week to celebrate Sylvia and share memories in her honor. We will gather again in the summer for a service in South Texas with more family. In lieu of flowers, please cook and eat something delicious, and be grateful for the beautiful memories of Sylvia.
