We went to high school together. Facebook gave me a look into her world and what a life it was. I just learned from her best friend JoAnn tonight that she passed. I don't know why it was her time but I can tell anyone, she lived her best life. Her love for life, family and friends left me jealous. 

I'm sorry for everyone's loss from a great lady. Prayers and misses. 

Sherry and I met on the first day of school at Vo-Tech in SiouxFalls. I remember she walked in and sat at the desk next to me. We immediately started cracking jokes. The whole class thought we were old friends. That sums her up in a way. She was an old friend already when you first met. I am so sorry for the loss of this kind sole. The world is a sadder place with out her in it. 

I have had the honor and pleasure of knowing Sherry for over 20 years in our Bunco group. She was always so much fun and kept us all laughing. She was also the sweetest soul I’ve ever met. She had so much compassion and love. She talked about her children and grandchildren with such love and admiration. She was a wonderful friend and I’m going to miss her a lot. My sincerest condolences to her family. I know this is the hardest thing. I wish you the strength and courage to continue on and know that Sherry will be with you always. Sherry was one of those people you went in search of when you were at the same function because she was someone you wanted to hang with.  Always positive, always smiling.  You  just knew how much she loved her family.   We had several good times at Sullivan's and weddings. She was  always there to support and watch over my daughter, which adores her.   Even though we did not hang out all time we will truly miss this wonderful lady.  
We are very blessed to have known her. 

I married into this wonderful, big, fun family and I was intimidated.   You guys do everything big, so I met everyone kinda all at once.  What always stuck out for me was how kind she was and loving.  She made me feel instantly part of the family.  When josh was hurt she was always calling and coming by to check on him and was there for me to talk to.   Never did a day go by she didn’t ask how Ayden’s health was coming along, and you just always felt her fun and loving nature in her presence.  I am heartbroken for everyone, everyone is going to miss that fun loving spirit.  I feel so blessed to have had a chance to know her, and have fun memories together (like when my husband had her and roger and I booted out of a bar when we were celebrating our marriage lol).  No matter what, you could always have a good time with Sherri.  Her and Rogers love for one another inspire us and we love their love for one another.  Truly two of the best people anyone could ever know.

We will keep her alive in our hearts and memories forever, easily!  Her sweet smile, funny cracks at Joe,  her epic card parties and laughter..... but what will we do about the lasagna?!!!!!

I can’t quite come to terms with the fact that Aunt Sherry is no longer with us. I have known and loved her my entire life. I can’t count the number of sleepovers Andy and I got to have at her house. The one good thing that makes me smile through all the hurt is knowing that  she will never be gone.  She lives on through Dawn, Chris, and Elizabeth and also through Emma, Andrew, Paxton, Allie and Avery as well as through Uncle Roger, all of my other aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as her many friends.  She was and will always be someone that can never go away. She loved and laughed like few people I’ve ever known. If you were lucky enough to know her, she will always be a part of you. I count myself lucky to have been able to be around her as much as I was. I will always miss her and if you knew her, you will certainly understand why.  The  world is a darker place without her. I’ll also settle the debate: hers  was the best lasagne (sorry mom). 

Sherry was an awesome sister in law. I always looked up to her and admired her so much. From the first time I met her she welcomed me into the Brandt family. She always welcomed my Mom to celebrate holidays and I really appreciated  that. She called me Mammy-I don’t know if that was a good or bad thing but I didn’t mind it kinda made me feel special. Sherry was always there if we needed her advice and support. She was so good to Michael & Jen and  gave them so much love just as she did to all her nieces & nephews. She was a wonderful Mom and Grandma and was so proud of all of them. Sherry always made holidays and visits to Texas special and made it look easy when I know it wasn’t.  I especially loved her lasagna dinners and she made the best sugar cookies ever. There are so many good times to remember with her. She will always be in our hearts. 

As I’ve been staring at my phone trying to find the words to write about Aunt Sherry, I realized that there are no words to explain just how much she meant to me. 
I can say, that she has made such an impact on my life. She is also someone that I looked up to, and will always strive to be like as great as her.
I can also say that she always put her family first, and she loved all of us more than anything. 
It always made me smile when she would congratulate me if something good happened, or would reach out to me if she knew I was having a hard time. She would always give me good advice, and always made it clear that if I needed her she would be here.
We will all remember her smile, her laugh, and the love she shared. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, and to me, and amazing Aunt. If I have the chance to be the kind of aunt to my nephew Graeson as Aunt Sherry was to me, I will be incredibly proud. 
Thank you Aunt Sherry for being the person you were. It will never be the same without your presence, and you will always remain in our hearts. I love you so much. Rest in paradise.

I didn’t get the chance to know Miss Sherry like most of my other friends got the honor to, but whenever I or my son was around her, she was always the sweetest and always doting on Stephen . You know a person has a beautiful heart when a toddler just runs up to them and jumps in their lap. Sherry always swooped up Stephen every time she saw him and he was always so comfortable with her . She also made the BEST cakes! Liz is so kind and has the best since of humouor and I know that it all came  from Sherry. I’ll miss seeing you at birthday parties but I know I’ll get to party up there with you one day. 

I only have fond memories of Aunt Sherry, and always looked forward to being in her company when we would visit her in Dallas.  I admired her kindness, generosity to her family and friends, and quick-witted humor that would always get the whole room laughing, especially at the infamous card parties!  
One of my favorite memories of spending time with Aunt Sherry was when she and Rodger went to Sturgis, SD with my family, and we rode through the black hills stopping at many places along the way.  I enjoyed that time very much as I know my family did.  
Aunt Sherry was a woman to be admired and respected, as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.   The family will not be the same without her presence, but we will never forget her and I know she would want us to continue to spend time with each other, and cherish the moments we have.  We love you and miss you Aunt Sherry.


Aunt Sherry was an amazing woman with a heart of gold. She was so strong, and selfless. She would littlerly do anything for you without thinking twice. Growing up, I lived in Texas, and we were very close. I almost thought of her as a second mom. I remember tons of times going over to swim with Liz at their house. When my parents went on a cruise I remember getting to stay with Aunt Sherry for like a week! Another thing I loved so much about Aunt Sherry was how involved she was in our lives! She would come to every soccer game I had, every basketball game, literally everything! She would record them on a video camera and be hooting and hollering! She would be so good at narrating and would also take shots of everyone at the game! I was with my wife and Mom and Dad a couple months ago and we actually watched one of my games and it made me smile! I know I said this before but Aunt Sherry was such a caring woman. I would love telling her any news that I had because she would get so excited for you and made you feel really good! One of the things I was most excited for was her to meet my son Graeson. It really sucks that he never got to meet her, I know he would have really loved her and I know she would have absolutely loved him. Aunt Sherry will always hold a special place in my heart. I know you’ll be looking down on me, and when you do, I hope you smile. I love you Aunt Sherry. 

I’m so thankful to have been able to know Sherry (or “mom”, as some of Liz’s other friends and I liked to call her).  She always had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude.  I’ll never forget when she took us to South Padre Island for Spring Break.  This was a time where her sense of humor and positive attitude really came in handy. 😁  I’m not sure who had more fun.  Sherry and Linda or us girls!

She not only knew how to enjoy life, but she was also such an amazing mother, a strong woman, and a great influence in our lives.  The strength she always displayed was admirable to say the least, and the constant love she showed for her husband, children, and grandchildren was beautiful to see.  She is greatly loved and will be truly missed.  I feel so Blessed to have known her.

Sherry and I were very close and would joke about the times we shared together (both good and bad).  Stories from when we lived together (can’t share some of those here), to the time we moved back to SD from TX and she totaled my car.  She never did pay me for that car.  We would joke about one of her favorite sayings when her kids were young, "if I have to get up"...the kids knew she wasn't going to get up.  As time went on and our families grew we got even closer. We always spent holidays together.  We attended our kids sporting events together.  One of our favorite Halloweens was when Liz, Jenn and Michael went as Wilma (Liz), Pebbles (Jenn), and Fred. (Michael). Even when my family moved back to SD (God's country), we stayed in touch as well as saw each other.  Sherry loved her husband, kids, siblings and especially her grandkids.  When we would talk it would always be about our families and then she would talk about her grandkids.  You could hear/feel her love for them through the phone. She was so proud of her kids/grandkids and had a special love for her grandkids.  When we talked about me becoming a grandpa she was so excited for me and told me just wait till you hold your grandchild for the first time.  She said it's a special love that you can't imagine.  She was right, I know that special love she was talking about. It's a different type of love than what you have with your kids. It's a shame my grandkids will only know her by the memories we share and pictures we show. I know my grandkids would have loved her as much as my kids loved their aunt Sherry.   She was loved by many and will be missed by all.  Sherry will be watching over all of us from above along with mom and grandma.  


Aunt Sherry had the most infectious laugh, just like her mom and our grandmother.  That is what I loved most about her.  Whenever she was around you knew you were going to have a great time with lots of laughs and memories.  I have so many memories of her but the ones that I will remember most are the card parties she would have.  She would always open her home up to us when we came to Dallas and would go above and beyond to make it special.   Despite all the pain and suffering she was going through, she would never let you see it.  She was such a strong person.  This void of you being gone Aunt Sherry is just too big to fill.  We are going to miss you so much.  You will be forever in our hearts and your memories will live on always.  We love you.

Sherry was very happy in life  with an infectious smile. She will be missed by many but know you all have one awesome Angel in heaven watching over you.

Those who knew and loved my Aunt Sherry are rich for having received the gift of her unflagging love. She was our loudest cheerleader at every sporting event, graduation, and was always present for our milestones, which she made sure to document through pictures. She was determined to make every occasion special, in a style so grand that even the Tupperware she used for her signature sugar cookies kept with the Christmas theme. Although her body was weakened, her spirit never faltered. Being the remarkably strong woman she was,  Aunt Sherry pushed through the pain always with a smile on her face and continued to act as the central matriarch of our family.

I will take to heart her mindset of remembering how fortunate we are for each and every day. Almost all of her Facebook posts express her gratitude for simply spending the day with the love of her life, my Uncle Roger, and the lights of her life, my cousins and their families. For someone who has yet to raise a family, she demonstrated that it’s not solely about the individual unit but rather the collective family unit. As I struggle to learn what she instinctively knew and practiced, I know she will be watching and guiding me through it all. You will be sorely missed, Aunt Sherry. Rest in paradise. 

Memories of Sherry will always bring a smile to my face. She was so warm and always a good friend. Many of my favorite Skidmore family memories include Sherry from rodeo nights, birthday celebrations and weddings. She loved her family so much and will be so missed. 

I will remember Sherry as a sweet woman and wonderful mom. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. 

Sherry was like a 2nd mother to me growing up!  I met Liz in Elementary school & quickly felt like part of the family! This woman has cooked for me, let me stay over longer than the usual sleep overs, bought me school clothes, drive us places to have fun, & the list goes on! She was such a giving person and  had a good sense of humor! I just can't believe she left us at such a young age & wish I would have seen her more recently! I will forever cherish the memories she has allowed me to be apart of. You will be deeply missed Sherry!!!!

My heart is broken because I miss my dear friend.  We have shared so much over the years.  

As I look at your name I think back to our younger days.  While we were growing up together the only time I saw or heard the full name Sherry Lynn was when your mom would say "Sherry Lynn"  in a little bit louder tone which meant you were in trouble which was a lot of the time because you hung out with me. We've been best friends since we were 10. We have made so many great memories and have been on many great adventures.   I'm a better person because of her. . I love you dear friend and will miss you forever. 

Roger, Dawn, Chris, Liz, Al, Julie, Joe, Ron, Pack and your families, my heart goes out to you. I know how much Sherry loved you all. When we talked our conversation were often about family. You are all the reason she was so happy. 

You'll be in my thoughts and in my heart as your family is my family.

I played Bunco with Sherry just a week before  her family trip to Disney. She was so excited to be with her entire family for this vacation. I was thinking to myself how wonderful it would be to have your whole family sharing a vacation altogether.  It is so hard to get everyone together these days. I know she spent her last few days on this earth in heaven on earth, being with her whole family in one place. So she died a happy woman having accomplished what so many of us want, and that is to spend time with our loved ones all Together!
