A MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY

Thank you for visiting my father's memorial page. As I know most of his friends and family live out of state and are unable to attend the services, I invite you all to use this page to share any memories or photos that you may have of Bob here for everyone to find comfort, and possibly even joy in during this sorrowful time. Outside of family, my father took great pride in both his service in the Navy as well as service through his church in Westminster, California. I was frequently impressed by the constant effort he put into not passing judgment on others and exercising forgiveness in even the most difficult of situations. He truly walked the walk as a man of faith. Once he passed, a random memory hit me. I was in the 7th grade and in my pre-algebra class I had an assignment each week referred to the "problem of the week". It was a word problem that you would have to solve and return by the following Friday, My Dad, always the one to help me with my homework, was completely stumped one week. Not willing to be bested by a 7th grade math assignment, stayed up all night working on that problem despite having to work the following day. Sure enough, the next day, he was utterly exhausted. The funny thing is that I don't remember if he found the solution or not. I just remember him staying up all night in an attempt to help me, long after I, myself, had gone to bed. I will most fondly remember his perfectly timed Dad jokes, birthday trips to Wild Rivers as a little kid, nights out to play miniature golf even during the worst of times and more recently, his trip out to visit us in North Carolina for Christmas. These are just a few of the many memories I have and will hold in my heart until I pass on. Bob will be honored on January 5th @ 10 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, where he will be interned directly following the service.
