Pamela Avon Johnson

Mrs. Pamela Avon Johnson was born May 18th, 1956, and the adored daughter of the late Mr. Bennie and Mrs. Juanda Arnwine. The 2nd of 5 children; Pam spent her early years in Oak Cliff, TX with sisters Tammy and Angie, and brothers Kyle and Bryan before the family relocated to southern New Jersey. To most, Pam was seen as a shy and quiet child (unless of course you were family or a close friend), and especially loved family camping and fishing trips. Being kindhearted even then, “Pamsky” as called by her father, even caught a possum in her backyard, and tried to convince her parents to let her keep it as a pet to no avail. Pam graduated from West Deptford High School in NJ, but her greatest life’s work was being a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker.

Pam married her sweetheart, Chuck Johnson, on January 21st, 1977 at the First Presbyterian Church in Woodbury, NJ after falling in love on a date in November 1975. The couple returned to TX where she took pride in filling her Garland home with lots of love and memories of raising her beautiful family, enjoying countless birthdays and holidays, and especially preparing wonderful meals and baked treats in her tiny kitchen for 30 years. “Pam-a-loo-la” as sometimes called by Chuck, was so excited when they bought their new home in Frisco where she finally got the kitchen of her dreams, and worked to fill this home with even more love and memories as she had before. In addition to cooking and baking, Pam enjoyed music, romantic movies, the color red, Mickey Mouse, and Mary Poppins; but nothing could top the joy she had being surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Pam was a woman of faith in the Lord, and genuinely sincere in how she encouraged others with love. Because of her selflessness and compassion, she was a registered organ donor, and now some other person will be able to see the beauty of God’s world through Pam’s beautiful blue eyes.

Left to forever cherish her life and legacy are her husband, Chuck Johnson of Frisco, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Erin Johnson of Round Rock, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Mandy Avon and Nic Griffin of Houston, TX, and grandchildren; Grant Griffin, June Johnson, Caleb Griffin, Wednesday Johnson, and Lydia Griffin.
