Marilyn Lucille Schilling was granted her angel wings on August 19, 2017. While her passing was unexpected, her final hours were spent surrounded by her children. She was born June 1, 1937 to the late Otto and Lucille Beamish of Dafter, Michigan. Marilyn grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan where she eventually met and married William “Bill” Schilling on April 12, 1958.
Marilyn spent many years raising her children but returned to the workforce where she spent 17 years serving as an aide with the Lewisville Independent School District where she eventually retired. Marilyn was known for her big personality, big heart and gift of gab. Even at the age of 80, she loved to mow her own yard and took great pride in all the beautiful flowers that surrounded her home. She never missed a volleyball, basketball, baseball, soccer or any other game that her children and grandchildren played over the years. She was their biggest fan. This love of sports is something she shared with her husband before his passing in 1998.
Marilyn was also a long-time member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Both she and Bill were very involved and made many lasting memories and friends through that association.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Jim and Sherri Moore of Celina, Texas, Craig and Kara Schilling of Frisco, Texas and Quincy and Tricia Jones of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin Moore, Bailee Moore and fiancé Riley Henson, Preston Schilling, Noah Schilling and Jaylen Jones. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Schilling.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas with Reverend David Freehling officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco.
