Judy Hodges was born September 10, 1958 in Dallas, TX to Tommy Lowrie and Doris Barnett. She passed away on April 28, 2018 after battling to recover from a traumatic brain injury. She is survived by her children Kate Graves and Travis Hodges, her grandson Kodiak Ruscher, and her brother Rickey Lowrie and sister Patty Young. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole Hodges and both parents.
Judy attended Northern Kentucky University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting and becoming a certified public accountant. She had a very successful CPA practice in Ohio. After moving back to Texas, Judy continued to work in accounting, contracting with multiple companies. Accounting was only one of her many passions.
Judy was an accomplished musician. She loved music and was a gifted singer with a beautiful mezzo-soprano voice. She sang with the Cincinnati Symphony and the Dallas Chorus. Her voice was truly a God given gift.
Judy loved being with people and had a natural talent and flare for arranging or performing for social events. She loved to cook and she loved being a mother. Most of all Judy loved her children and had great times at Kentucky Lake fishing, swimming, boating, and water skiing.
Judy had a vivacious personality. She was known for her big smile, her laugh, and her mischievousness. Her untimely and early passing is painful and tragic for all who knew and loved her. The void in our hearts from her absence will only heal when we see her again in heaven. We love you Judy.
