Jim was a friend of ours through Cindy.  He was fun loving, kind and an avid golfer.  I will miss him, and extend condolences to all who knew him.

Jim was a friend of mine for over 35 years. He was such a kind and generous person, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. I take solace in knowing that he is re-united with Denise and his parents, and hold dearly to some great memories that we made over the years.

Dib (Jim) was my uncle and like a father figure to me.  Throughout my life, as I made decisions, in the back of my mind I would always wonder "what would Dib think about this".  I will miss flying into Dallas having Dib pick myself and friends up at the airport for our yearly Byron Nelson extravaganza.  
Dib always had some "cold road sodas" waiting for us after a long flight.  I couldn't have had a better uncle with the most unique demeanor and sense of humor.  He played "Monster" with us as little kids, sent money and presents at Christmas to make sure we were taken care of, and made Thanksgiving the holiday that we would most look forward too attending.  
I will miss listening to tunes in the hot-tub singing with Dib and company after a day on the golf course or at the Byron.  
He is reunited with his loving wife Denise in heaven.  I will miss you Dibster for all that you were and  Thanksgiving will never be the same.

Jim was my neighbor, friend, and fellow golf nut and was just a unique, special, kind, and gentle guy that treated everyone with respect and courtesy and never complained about anybody or anything even while going through extremely difficult times.  I will miss you my friend.  Rest in Peace.

Uncle "Dib" as we know him was an all around wonderful person as an uncle, brother, husband, and friend.  Throughout his life he experienced true love, excelled in his career, was an excellent golfer, traveled to many places, and mostly enjoyed the company of family & friends who were dear to his heart.  We know he is at peace & is reunited with Denise and his mother & father who have passed before him.  We miss you uncle Dib!

Dear friends:
This weekend was one of reflection for many of us following our loss of Jim
Nugent.  Many people shared their reflections so beautifully that I  wanted to capture them for Jim's family. 
I have attached my summary and thank each of you for memorializing your
feelings.
It seemed clear to me that one of the side effects was for us to remember
how much we value our friendships.  I think Jonathan Wechsler said it best in the final quote posted here.
Thank you all, I hope that some of us will be able to attend the services
for Jim on Wednesday.  For those who aren't able, I know you will be there
in spirit, as will Jim.

Michael Allison: .  There is no one that has teed it up in our group or in Jim's 4some that didn't think he was one of the kindest souls they had ever met.  I truly believe there is a special place for a soul as wonderful as Jims'.
We tend talk a lot about greens, bunkers, course conditions, missed putts and fairways, and maybe not nearly enough about what makes SBCC special.  Mr. Jim Nugent made SBCC special.  
I will miss my friend. 

Chris Flood: just a genuine, nice man who never had a bad word for anyone. In fact, is there anyone in this group who ever heard him say a bad word? I was honored and surprised when Jim asked me to be a pall bearer at Denise's funeral, but that showed me that his life truly revolved around her. She was his life; he did not have a lot of other interests outside of his weekly golf games with our group. It meant a lot to him to be a part of a group like ours. I only hope that he realized how much it meant to us to have him in our group.  
My hope and belief is that he is at peace now. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Craig Frankel: Always a pleasure to golf with. He was so complimentary and kind. We need more genuine good people like him on this planet 

Lance Martin: Jim was always kind and he was a true gentleman. That smooth swing and his relaxed style...it was always a pleasure to play a round with Jim in your group. He will be missed. Godspeed!

Dennis Schumacher:  The only thing smoother than that swing was his demeanor!!!! Every email the guys write makes me so thankful for the types of people Jim associated with!!!just wish he could know how much we all thought of him.

Blake Trimble:  Such a great guy and a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed.

Bob Wightman:  Jim was a good friend and one of the nicest, most genuine people I know. He was a lost soul when he lost Denise and it was painful to witness his decline. 
I pray that God welcomes him home and that he is now reunited with the love of his life. 
I will take more than a few minutes to reflect on how blessed I am to have known Jim and Denise; and to be grateful for good health and supportive friendships.  
Let's celebrate this weekend, in part, as a tribute to our friend.

Larry Gekiere:  Jim was, and will live in my memory, as one of the nicest people I have known.
He never had a negative comment about anyone or anything. I can remember like it was yesterday hugging him at Denise's funeral and his tears flowing while saying "I just love her so much." 
There is a lot to remember about Jim today 

Todd Leveridge:  My heart broke at Denise's funeral. He taught me a lot about life. Glad he is reunited with her and smiling again. 

Jamie Keaveny:  He was just a great soul. 

Michael Murphy:   Well this is incredibly sad news. We all have a great fondness for Jim. Like many of you my relationship goes way back with Jim. We used to partner in many of the sbcc tournaments. We never won, Jim would drink his beer and as a non beer drinker I was always amazed. We were a bit of an odd couple but I would always come off the course knowing that I had spent 5 hours with a beautiful person. God has called Jim home. The suffering is over. He is back with his Denise We just lost a class act. 

Jonathan Wechsler: Such a great guy God bless him and all you guys Love all you guys.

Jim was a sweet man and a wonderful husband to Aunt Denise. He will be missed dearly!

Jim was a dear friend and always had nice things to say about everyone. I always enjoyed getting to play golf with Jim and we never had a bad day
on the golf course. As many of us that did have the honor of knowing Jim,
he did bless us all. We were all fortunate to have had him as a friend.

It's hard to think of Jim without remembering how much he adored his wife, Denise. They were two of the first people we met in Stonebriar, and they immediately made us feel like we belonged. Jim's Christmas lights were something special,and knowing how hard he worked on them every year made them even more so. We're so sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

Jim was such a kind, gentle man. Our golf group was blessed to have Jim as a long time member. We have all reflected on how much impact he had on us, even in his laid-back, understated manner. Sometimes a man does not have to say a lot to make a lasting impression. Jim will be sorely missed.
