July 15, 2024 - A year without Harry in our lives is hard to believe. Yet we know he is in Heaven watching over us every day. He was a good man, my best friend in college, a lifelong Longhorn, and a great family man.

I met Harry when he joined SPI & quickly knew he was a man of strong faith & Family & Friends.  He beamed with pride when not long after he became our CFO, he welcomed a new Grandson. His yearly trip with the Guys always brought a smile when he would come down to the Plant asking for earplugs as ‘some of the Guys’ snored & the earplugs would ensure a good nights sleep. Our friendly football rivalry (my Sooners vs his beloved Longhorns) has included Monday morning emails with simply ‘ouch’ written with a smiley face. 
When my Daughter became ill, Harry & Jane will never know how much it meant for all the encouragement & prayers.  One afternoon a 
FedEx truck, not once, but twice came through the yard & wiped out 
some of the slabs & Harry asked if he could give us a list of stone he needed to get off inventory so we could place them in the path of FedEx next time. HaHa! I remember when he came into my office as he wanted to tell me before I heard from anyone else that he had decided to Retire & the discussion that followed, I will forever hold close to my heart.  As Purchasing Agent, I am forever grateful for what he taught me. He was always kind & always willing to share his knowledge. He will be missed & always remembered as one of the good ones. As I have said before, while I am not a Longhorn Fan, I am certainly a huge Fan of this Longhorn. May God’s comfort & love be felt by all who loved Harry. I love him & Jane so much, I am so blessed to call them Friends.

   The world has lost one of the greatest men I have ever met and had the pleasure to work for.  I worked with Harry at SPI, he was always such a kind person and great mentor at work and in life. He always had a smile & was always genuine and down to earth.  He was always at work and was extremely hard working and never backed down from a challenge. It was always fun to talk about football and especially about his beloved Longhorns.  He will be sadly missed by all,  especially his wife & Family. What a class act!!      Dewey Winker and Family

I met Harry in 2004, soon after I sold the majority share of Stone Panels. The new owners informed me they wanted a new CFO in the company. I was quite apprehensive, but they had a recruiting company researching the candidates & selected the best 3 from over 100 applicants. They gave me the final choice, but there was no competition as Harry was not only the most qualified and experienced, we immediately bonded with our shared experiences. Once he joined the company and we worked together, I realized he was one of the best people I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. 
Harry, very quickly understood the financial aspects of our business. I was fully comfortable with his analyses of the current and potential projects and their effect on the business. 
In all the time I’ve known him I’ve never known him raise his voice or become embroiled in unnecessary conflicts with anyone, he would just quietly resolve any issue presented to him. When the owners decided to change the CEO they asked Harry to step in as a caretaker CEO which he undertook admirably. He was extremely versatile and a highly accomplished and respected manager of people. 
When our owners decided they would sell the company, Harry told me he would retire before the sale and hand over to another CFO. I protested that he was much too young to retire, but he said that no-one in his family had ever made it to 80 years old, so he needed to spend some time with Jane. I told him I fully understood but I bet he would beat the odds and go on for many years beyond 80. I really wish I was wrong just this one time. 
While we have lost a very dear friend, it is nothing to compare to Jane who has lost her lifelong soulmate and partner, or their children and grandchildren who have lost their dad and grandad. 
We’re so very sorry for your loss but take solace that Harry is no longer suffering after his most valiant fight which he did for you these last two and half years.

Dearest Jane and family, our heartfelt prayers are with you in this time of loss of your beloved Harry, your loving  Dad and your devoted Papaw.  Harry was always the epitome of kindness.  His quiet dignity illustrated his servant’s heart through his dedication as a leader in his church, by teaching, the Word of God to his children and grandchildren and to Sunday school students of all ages. 
Jane, I always loved hearing about your adventures with your precious grandchildren… numerous “long” road trips
in the minivan full of excited kiddos, summer VBS hosted by you and Harry right in your own back yard, hearing their laughter as they played games and sports at your home will live in their hearts forever.
Your love and joy for your grandchildren is matched only by their love and joy for you and Harry.  Like their Nana, their Papaw was devoted to everything his grandchildren were immersed in and never wanted to miss an opportunity to cheer them on!  
Last January was a very special time for Harry,  your family and friends as you honored  Harry on his birthday!  Jane, your love and compassion for Harry and your devotion to your Savior, carried you on the wings of angels as you celebrated Harry each and every day of your life together. 
You and Harry were mighty warriors as you traveled on the journey that was so unexpectedly set before you.  But on that journey, you were joined by the Mightiest Warrior, your Lord, who held you closely in the palm of His hand as He walked with you before calling Harry home to live with Him forever and ever.  
Harry left your family with many treasured memories that will forever be tucked away in your hearts, to savor and delight in. But he also left you with the most precious and valuable gift ever, a spiritual legacy of his faith and trust in God and His Word.
May you feel the Almighty’s divine protection covering you at Harry’s Celebration of Life and forever.





My memories go to the days when 3 families of us on the neighbor hood street did several years of group camping for a week at Huntsville State Park.  All the parents took turns w/the meals while we kids just had a good time swimming and walking the trails, campfires at night.  Lots of stories, laughs, pranks, etc. The families were the Jeffersons, the McCarters and the Jacobs.   Let the GOOD TIMES roll !!!  We were all like ONE big family, all the kids about the same age, we all had someone to play with on the street, playing baseball, roller skating, thether ball, croquet, bad mitten, etc.  
Those were the days my friends, we thought they would never end.  We all have to live that circle of life and bless those who have come to know thier Good Lord.  Amen

My best friend in college was Harry. We met the first day of UT Orientation in the summer of 1965 at Kinsolving Dorm, a block away from Longhorn Cleaners owned by my Dad, B.D. Cain. Harry became an employee there and met Jane there. We went to football games in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, double dated, and had a lot of fun. I have attached some old photos from those days. Harry went to work at T.I. and I went into the Navy but we kept in touch and went to each other's weddings. We were there to see each other's children born. And our families got to know each other thru visits to each other's homes. Harry was a smart guy, a quiet leader with a dry sense of humor. I admired his faith in God from the time we met so now he is there leading the way for the rest of us to be there someday. God Bless Harry and the Jefferson family.
