Gayle grew up in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Blackhawk High School in Beaver Falls. Gayle worked at the local Baskin Robbins where she met her future husband, Mark Palmer.
After dating a little more than a year, they became husband and wife on October 18, 1975. Their first apartment was in an old office building on the 3rd floor in downtown Beaver PA. Gayle studied to be a Nurse’s Aide and worked at the PA Geriatric Center and at the PA state home for the mentally handicapped.
Gayle and Mark eventually moved to New Galilee, PA and had their children, a daughter, Eve in 1978 and while living in McMurry, PA they had their son, Nathaniel in 1980. They bought their first home in Mars, PA then moved to The Colony, TX in 1986 until 2022 when moved to Aubrey, TX.
Gayle proudly raised her children, then started working at various positions as receptionist, medical records clerk, and office support staff. A few places include The Lakeside Medical Center, Furnas Electric, and her last and happiest workplace was at the Boy Scouts of America Headquarters where she worked with her closest and best friend, Donna Arnold. Gayle was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in the early 1990's.
Gayle was very creative and talented at cross stitch; she has created many beautiful works of art for all her family and friends. Gayle's favorite time of year is Christmas and has created multiple ornaments, banners, tree skirts, ceramic houses and much more. Gayle made wreaths for every season and could look at any object and transform it into a piece of art. Gayle enjoyed the great outdoors with trout fishing, camping, hiking, and boating. She shared this love with her children by helping them see the beauty and wonder of nature. Gayle was also quite a romantic, as she enjoyed the love stories on the Hallmark channel and in her books.
Gayle had a wonderful sense of humor. She could surprise everyone at any time and no one would see it coming. Gayle laughed easily, loved greatly, and would do anything for her family, which has always been her greatest love. Near the end of her life, all she wanted was to be home, surrounded by her family.
Gayle is survived by her loving husband, Mark Palmer; children, Eve and her husband Oscar, and son Nathaniel and his wife Becca; grandchildren, Abby Accipiter, Phoenix Accipiter, Aiden Leon, Xavi Leon, Emma Palmer, and Ethan Palmer; brothers Tim and Jay Sausman; brother-in-law Larry Palmer and sister-in-law Brenda Palmer.
