Eric John Lentz

Eric John Lentz was born March 9, 1977. He grew up in The Colony, TX with his loving parents John and Margaret Lentz. The second of six children, Eric was a very active child. He loved sports, especially indoor soccer games. Eric never met a stranger and he had a great sense of humor, he was constantly playing jokes on his siblings and his parents.

You could never be in a room with Eric without laughing. He loved to banter about sports and share military stories and memories. Every time he talked about his time in the military his eyes would light up with passion. He loved his country and his family. Eric’s favorite place to be was sitting outside on the patio or the garage, especially when it was raining. Some of his favorite movies were “Goodfellas,” “Black Hawk Down,” and “Casino.” He enjoyed current rock and some classic rock music as well as hip-hop and R&B music.

Eric attended Irving Nimitz High School and received his GED in 1995. He also studied at Central Texas College. Eric served in the U.S. Army for approximately 5 years where he was a member of the Third Battalion 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR.) Later, he worked in automotive retail management and most recently, consumer services.

Eric married Crystal Shaw on July 10, 2003 in Savannah, Georgia. They were married for 13 years and have one 13 year old daughter, Linda Lentz.

One of his favorite sayings was, “better to ask forgiveness than permission.” Especially if ammo or Amazon Prime was having a sale.

Eric is preceded in death by his father, John Ellis Lentz.

He is survived by his wife, Crystal Shaw Lentz of Aubrey, TX; daughter, Linda Lentz of Aubrey, TX; stepparents, Jerry and Margaret Iseli of Lone Oak, TX; sister, Tracy Lentz of Cabot, AR; brother, Michael Lentz & his wife Michelle of Allen, TX; brother, Ryan Lentz and his wife Stephanie of Prosper, TX; brother, Austin Lentz and his wife Kristin of Dallas, TX; sister, Alexandra Iseli of Dallas, TX; brother Connor Iseli of Richardson, TX; and several nieces and a nephew.
