Edna Caroline Jackson was born to David Everett Holt Sr. and Mildred Rosalie Brown Holt on June 18th, 1936, in Canadian, Texas. Edna was the eldest child with two brothers and one sister, and grew up in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated from Palo Duro High School the very first year it opened.
Edna was married to Bill T Jackson in 1953 when they eloped to Clovis, New Mexico. They were married for 63 years, and had two daughters. Edna enjoyed crochet, reading murder mysteries in particular, fishing, garage selling with her grandchildren, and gardening. She loved to spend an afternoon having lunch and shopping at Half Price Books or Hobby Lobby with her daughter Teresa or watching her granddaughters play sports and dance. Edna’s favorite place to be was the beach or reading a good book. She also enjoyed watching NCIS, old westerns, and Fox news. She loved decorating her home with her grandchildren. Edna Caroline Jackson entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2016, at the age of 80. She will be dearly missed.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Brown Holt and David Everett Holt, Sr.; her brothers, Arthur Milton “Willie” Holt, and David Everett Holt, Jr.; her sister Sandra Gail Holt Lucas; nieces Becky and Deborah Lucas; as well as many friends. Edna is survived by her husband, Bill Truman Jackson of Cross Roads, TX; daughters, Valetta Carol Jackson Pelata and her husband Stacy Pelata of Kemah, TX, and Teresa Gayle Jackson Robinson, and husband Cody Robinson and grandchildren, Emily Caroline Robinson and Kendall Reese Robinson of Prosper, TX; sister-in-law, Stella Swires Holt of Amarillo, TX; brother-in-law, Ben Lucas of Longview, TX; niece, Karla Holt Bryan and Husband Stant Bryan of Amarillo, TX; nephews: Kevin Holt of Albuquerque, NM, Ben Lucas, Jr of Longview, TX, and Mike Holt of New York, NY.
