David H. Sharpe was born to James and Florence Sharpe on April 13, 1947. He grew up with his older brother Robert in Burlington, Ontario. Dave graduated from Burlington Central High school in 1965 and in 1976, he married Brigitte at Wellington Church in Burlington. The same church that he and his two sons were baptized in.
Dave played golf in high school and aspired to play professionally but decided to settle down instead. He kept that “family first” attitude his whole life. Dave began working at 20 years old for the Otis Elevator Company and continued to work there his entire adult life. He worked at the Hamilton branch for 20 years and then transferred to Bloomington, IN where he remained for the next 18 years. After both of his sons relocated to Dallas, he and his wife moved to Texas as well so the family would be together.
A conservative, friendly, laid back, compassionate, and extremely punctual man, Dave loved golf and was especially happy that The Masters golf tournament was held the week of his birthday every year. He also enjoyed bowling, going to the casino to play the slots, and visiting historical places. Some of his favorite sites included: Fort Knox, The Biltmore Estate, The Patton Museum, various plantation homes, and Las Vegas.
His favorite author was James Patterson, mostly because of the short chapters. He loved to listen to big band, gospel and country music. Dave also really enjoyed watching TV and movies. His favorite movies were Westerns, wartime films, or anything with John Wayne. He enjoyed watching M.A.S.H., Bonanza and The Andy Griffith Show.
Dave is preceded in death by his father, James Sharpe, and brother, Robert Sharpe.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brigitte Sharpe; his sons, J. R. (Brooke) Sharpe and Tim (Jennifer) Sharpe; mother, Florence Sharpe; grandchildren, Hannah and Emily; and his dog, Tinker.
