David loved music, he discovered music at a very young age and his love for music grew throughout his entire life. Music was his greatest comfort and his shield as he raged battle against cancer for years. His music ear buds had to be handy all the time, misplacing them was not an option…ever!
Talk about baseball and his eyes would light up, he was a baseball historian. Going to watch his Texas Rangers gave him great joy, it didn’t matter if it was on TV, on the radio or at the stadium.
He always admired his dad and his brothers and friend James-for their natural ability to play a good game of golf. He loved the game, as long as his legs allowed it, he took a swing.
He was an athlete and ran marathons and half marathons for years, when that ability was taken, he took up walking until he could not.
His fight with cancer and his ability to win the battle more than once was due to his athletic strength and his amazing “can do ability”.
He was a proud American and served his country in the Navy, in a place he loved - the sea. Nature and water were a cleansing breath of fresh air for him.
He leaves a legacy of people he mentored, loved, believed in, supported and trusted with all his heart: his wife Esy, mother Charlotte, his children Domingo, daughter-in-law, Diana, Michelle, son-in-law, Alex, and David Jr.
Grandchildren: Vinny, Rae, Donavon, Mia, Elenor, Emily, Bailey, Leilani, Micah and Max.Brothers: Bobby and Ashley. Beloved friends, Chris, Ely, Chrissy, Alice, James, Patrick, and Dan.
He loved all his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws, his hero Nana, brothers-in-laws and In-laws (Mom and Dad) and the Lubbock Tias with all his heart.
He leaves himself in all of us that loved him.
