Daryl was born on June 27th, 1960 in Troy, Alabama to his parents Lamon and Nellie McLeod. He graduated from Elyria West High School in Ohio in 1978, and Bowling Green State University in 1982. While at Bowling Green Daryl met the love of his life Vera, who he was married to for 40 years. Vera always referred to Daryl as the calm in her storm. Their favorite things to do together was to travel and go to concerts.
Poppa D was an avid sports lover, an inspiring coach, a successful businessman, a friend to all and a man that absolutely loved and cherished his family. In his spare time you could find him on the softball field, on the golf course, or somewhere watching sports. What he loved to do most though was spend time with his family and friends, he especially loved being around his grandchildren.
If you met Daryl you would never forget him. His smile could light up any room, his laugh was infectious, and he always made you feel like the most important person in the world. He was not just the life of the party, he was the heart and soul of it.
Daryl is survived by his wife Vera, his children Tony (Kendall) and Brandon (Brittany), his grandchildren Cameron, Caleigh, Sophia, and Brandon. His parents Lamon and Nellie, and his sisters Lynn and Vieva McLeod.
