Dale Robert Darling was born on 9/16/1932 and died on 11/18/2022. He loved his God, he loved his family, and through all his years, he served his church faithfully serving in many positions including Elder and Deacon.
Born in New Hampshire and raised in Groton, VT, Dale was one of seven children born to Theodore Harold Darling and Florence Nina Lund. Dale was active with his siblings in maintaining a dairy farm and attended a one room schoolhouse. He left the beautiful mountains of Vermont after two years at University of Vermont as he entered the Air Force and served his country from March 6, 1953, thru Sept 5th, 1957.
After serving his country, he attended Texas A&M and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plant Science and a Masters in Plant Pathology & Physiology. During that time, Dale received a grant from the Air Force to research the effects of airplane proponents on marine life, plant life and air quality. While completing his research towards his PHD in Pathology and Bio-Chemistry, he was recruited by the DuPont Company in 1963. To support his young family, Dale left Texas A&M to work in the Agrochemical Division for 39 years. He loved his work at DuPont and felt he was paid for what he loved doing. He excelled in many positions including sales, product management and his work in tandem with the US Dept of Agriculture. In the year 2000, he was chosen to be in the top 100 men of the Alpha Zeta Honor Society due to his immense contribution to agriculture during the previous century. Dale retired as an Ag Chem Relationship Manager, working closely with all the major food grower associations across the country. During his retirement, Dale invested his heart and visionary training into Young American Leaders. He had so many accomplishments, but his biggest accomplishment was being a Godly husband to his wife Patricia Darling, father to Michael Darling and Ruth Darling, grandfather to Andrew Simpson, Jonathan Darling, Nicole Darling, Campbell Simpson, Rebecca Darling, Riley Simpson and great grandfather to Ethan Torres, Sophia Torres, Violet Simpson, and Charlie Simpson. Dale was such a good soul, a gift unto this world. May he find rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
