Christine Hall-Thompson passed from this life on to her eternal home on January 21, 2020 in McKinney, Texas. She was born May 30, 1939 to Ferdinand Hall and Annemarie Borchert in Trier, Germany. Christine was the eldest of five children.
Her life was surrounded by the horror of war when Hitler invaded Poland on September 1, 1939 launching the terror of WWII Germany. Christine immigrated to the United States of America in 1959 and set out to build her life around the American Dream which she did with much success.
Those that knew her, would describe her as fiercely independent and strong willed. Immaculate in everything she did was another accurate statement. Tenacious in all her endeavors, she saw all tasks thru to her desired outcome. Christine was fluent in her native German and her second language, English both with perfect accents.
Christine was also known as “Giga” as a child. She attended American High School on a US Military Base in Germany during 1957. Christine worked in the medical field as a Registered Nurse, Poison Control, and In-Home Nurse in Hawaii and also as a Home Health Nurse in Assisted Living Communities.
Christine had exquisite style and taste which was always on display in her immaculate home and always by her. She traveled extensively to such locations as Tahiti, Vietnam, China, Western Europe, Indonesia, and extensively throughout the U.S. Christine was a huge environmental advocate that supported causes such as Wildlife Protection and Green efforts. She enjoyed Rock such as the “Eagles”, Led Zeppelin”, Classical and Hawaiian music.
Though not a Veteran herself, Christine served as all military wives do indirectly suffering on the Homefront with the worry, loneliness and constant moves required of those who serve this great country. While her accent was perfect, American says sometimes got twisted such as “Things Going on My Nerves”!
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand and Annemarie Hall; and her husband, Henry Gustauv Thompson. She is survived by her siblings: Claudia Sheets, Jo Chorley, Jim Jellison and Owen Jellison. Christine’s legacy will live on through her sons: Jeff Hall of Plano, TX and Darrell Hall and his wife, Yvonne Mamallo of N. Las Vegas, NV; her grandchildren: Jessica Branscome and husband, Aaron of Blue Ridge, TX, Monica Hall of Carrollton, TX, Linsey Hall of Denver, CO, Jarret Hall of McKinney, TX, and Erik Hall of McKinney, TX; her great-grandchildren: Alex Branscome, Elliott Branscome and Andi Branscome all of Blue Ridge, TX. And not to be forgotten, her dog, Roxy.
Christine was loved while she was with us here on Earth and will continue to be loved by her friends and family through time and all eternity. She will be dearly missed by all.
