Scott passed away Wednesday May 4 2023 in Frisco, Texas from a short battle of pneumonia, and new prognosis of lung cancer. He died 5 days after that prognosis. Scot was Born Dec 12, 1955, to Ethel Marie Miller and Charles Bruce Smith in El Paso Tx.
He grew up in Dallas Texas on Dorrington. He also spent summers in Wichita Falls and Corpus Christi. Scot and his family moved from Dallas to Waco in 1972, where he attended Midway High School. In the summer of 1973, he attended University High School Summer school program. There he met his soul mate and love of his life Schultzie Ann King. Schultzie had just moved to Waco in Feb1973, and they both had to earn 1 credit each to graduate from Midway in 1974. Scot and Schultzie were married August 22, 1975. In 1978 they welcomed their first son Michael and in 1981 they welcomed their second son Zachary. Scot was a mechanical engineer. He spent 34 years at M&M Mars in Waco before retiring, there he got his love for food processing. He took a CAD course at TSTC Waco and basically taught himself the rest. For the last 15+ years he has designed and built food manufacturing facilities all around the metroplex. And he loved what he did. Scot had so much common sense, could fix anything, that was, self-taught as well. He was a fix it guy, whether it be machinery or people. He never met a stranger and could talk for hours on end. He had a great love for coastal fishing, motorcycles, camping, guns, playing guitar and go-karts More than anything Scot loved the Lord and was very well versed in biblical history. He could spend hours talking about the coming of Jesus. He served as an ordained pastor, elder and deacon in the last years. His other great love was his grandkids, he became a child again when he was around them, but don’t you bet any money that his boys were not just as special to him. Scot had this canny ability to make Schultzie laugh, and he did so almost every day. Truth be told she loved it too.
Scott is preceded in death by his father Charles Bruce and his mother Ethel Marie, and older Brother Bruce G. and father n law Elijah King and 3 precious angel grandbabies, and a nephew Chance King.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Schultzie of Frisco, Tx son Michael (Jen) of Waco, and other son Zach (Kerri) of Lubbock, Tx and younger brother Roger (Stacy) McKinney, Tx. Also 5 grandchildren Allison, Logan, Gavin, Halle, and Isaac. Not to mention several cousins, nieces and nephews and brother-n-laws and sister n laws.
