Barbara Petrucci Brennan Born October 21, 1936, in Waterbury, Connecticut to Orlando and Beatrice Petrucci, passed away peacefully August 22, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She spent the last few years in Texas with her daughter Karen, previously resided in South Carolina with her daughter Kathy Cook and Son-in-Law Teddy Cook and in California for 28 years with her husband of 44 years John (Jack) Brennan who passed on August 20, 2003. She leaves behind her daughter Karen Brennan, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Teddy Cook, daughter and son-in-law Judi and Dary Shumaker and two grandsons Jonathan and Matthew Lindquist.
Barbara was a graduate of St Mary’s Nursing School, she began her nursing career at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut and retired from nursing as a Patient Care Manager from St Jude’s Hospital in Fullerton, California after caring for patients for over 4 decades.
Barbara was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and dedicated nurse, she will always be remembered as wearing her nurse’s cap every day to work. She enjoyed bowling, bunco and was most happy helping others. Barbara would want to be remembered as an exceptional caregiver not only to her family but to all the people that crossed her path.
Barbara spent her last year and half at Saddlebrook Oxford Memory Care, she would walk into the dining room and announce “Barbara’s here” where she was often referred to as BBB or Bossy Barbara Brennan.
The family would like to thank the caregivers, nurses and staff at Saddlebrook Oxford Memory Care as well as Anchor of Hope Hospice who cared for our mother.
