Andrew attended Frisco High School, where he excelled as a competitive Cross Country athlete, achieving a ranking of #3 in the State of Texas. Following high school, Andrew demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by founding The Mixon Agency, an Insurance and Financial Services firm dedicated to providing tailored solutions for individuals and businesses navigating the complexities of insurance and financial planning. This venture was a source of immense pride for Andrew, and he found great fulfillment in his dedication to his clients, colleagues, and friends. In his leisure time, Andrew enjoyed spending time on the golf course with friends and colleagues, attending Football (Go Cowboys!) and Basketball games, and watching the Track & Field Olympic competitions. He also cherished moments spent with his family, particularly his siblings, with whom he shared wonderful memories of their travels. Growing up, Andrew eagerly anticipated his summer visits to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to spend time with his grandmother, affectionately known as “GrammaLu.” These summers were filled with new adventures for “Sweebs” and “GrammaLu,” who were truly inseparable.
Andrew is survived by his brother, Quartney Mixon of Austin, Texas; his sister, Dominique Thompson of Houston, Texas; his brother, Christian Roy of Fort Worth, Texas; his aunt, Consuela Mixon Nelson (Andre Nelson) of Apopka, Florida; his cousins, Sonja White-Trueh (Emil Trueh) of Washington, District Of Columbia, Marissa White of Tavares, Florida, and Lauren Nelson of Apopka, Florida; his great aunts, Johnnie Banks and Marion Banks, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his girlfriend, Erika McCloud of Princeton, Texas; his stepfather, Clifton Roy; and numerous other relatives and friends.
