Alvin (Ivin) Walter Stewart was born November 30. 1949 in Washington, DC. to his loving parents Alfonso R. and Josephine C. Stewart. He attended James Lee and Lee and Carrie Elementary schools and Luther Jackson and George T. Marshall High Schools. When his days of public school ended, he worked for a while in the public sector until he decided to join the United States Air Force where he served for a number of years where his specialties were Air Force Police and Apprentice Baker.
In 1972 he married the love of his life Sharon Lorraine Robinson and from this marriage Kimberly Ivy Stewart was born in 1974. Once again, he decided to make a career change. He left the Air Force in 1975 and took a position with Southern Railway Company as a chef for 31 years until he retired in 2008. In 2017 they moved to Texas to be closer to their daughter Kim, her husband Byran and grandchildren.
Alvin Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, one Brother Dewey Winston and one Sister Evelyn Jackson. He is survived by his wife Sharon Lorraine (Robinson) Stewart, his daughter Kimberly (Bryan) Henderson; brother Richard Stewart, three sisters, Annie Mae Blackwell, Beatrice (Bebe) Clark, and Addie Thomas. Grandchildren, Jazmine Stewart, Ivy Stewart and Taira Stewart. Great Grandchildren, Izayah Stewart, Iyannah Stewart, Chance McKnight, and Noah Wheeler and a host of other family members.
When you talk to his wife Sharon, she will tell you, one of her loving memories of "Ivin" is when coming home as she entered their home she would call out "coming in" and he would reply "already in."
One of the last comments made by Ivin was, "I have lived a good life".

A Graveside service, with Military Honors, is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2024 start at 2pm at the National Memorial Park located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
