GELBARD - Dr. Alan passed away on July 3rd, 2021. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, March 28th, 1934. This made him a lifelong Dodgers fan. He was an avid tennis player, loved politics, traveling and reading. Alan graduated from Brooklyn College and earned a Masters in Science from the University of Massachusetts. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin in Microbiology. He taught at Downstate and Cornell University and ran a lab at Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center and New York Hospital. Lovingly remembered by his wife, Vicki, of 55 years and his children Adam and Ingrid Stokes (Edward). He will be remembered by his 4 devoted grandsons, Kai and Keanu Gelbard of O'Ahu, Hawaii, and Gavin and Tyler Stokes of Texas.
