Yuet Tim Chan Wong, affectionately nicknamed “Annie” by her former co-workers, passed peacefully in the morning of June 7th after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of life.
Annie was born in a small village in mainland China, relocated to Hong Kong in 1958, then crossed the Pacific Ocean with her husband (Cheung Tsun Wong), her children and mother-in-law. She has been a Fresno resident since 1965. In addition to raising her children, she maintained a diverse Chinese vegetable garden and fruit orchard. She and her husband operated a Chinese food family restaurant in the northwest neighborhood of Fresno during the 1970’s after several years in the food service business as an employee.
Annie is survived by six children (one deceased son, Henry) and spouses: Jane Mao (Alex), Candy Lee (Steve), Walter Wong (Therese), Fay Ryan (Dennis), Howard Wong (Renee), and Nancy Wong; ten grandchildren and spouses: Daniel Lee (Bekah), Alexandra Calaustro (Kevin), Janson Mao, Winston Wong (Thuy), Kevin Wong, Jeremy Wong, Tyler Wong, Melanie Wong, Justin Ryan, and Nathan Wong; and three great grandchildren: Evie and Landon Lee, and Avery Calaustro.
