William L. Cook was born to William J. Cook and Pauline Rubie on July 27, 1932 - in Fresno, CA.

William served in the Air force during the Korean war as an aircraft mechanic - from 1951 to 1955. William was honorably discharged with rank A/1C, and was awarded the national defense and good conduct medals.
In 1961, William married Marlene "Ellis" - his darling wife. In 1963, William and his wife moved from Fresno to Southern California.
Williams last place of employment was Beckman Instruments - makers of scientific and diagnostic analyzers. The job was to set up and operate computerized machining centers. William retired after 28 years and returned to Fresno in 1994.
