He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. A 1951 graduate of San Joaquin Memorial High School. He was a barber, tax preparer and miniature toy collector salesman.
He was very proud of his football career at SJM and was the starting center on the 1949 Valley Championship Football Team. In 2007, the 1949 team was inducted into the SJM Hall of Fame.
Victor was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea with the 25th Infantry Division. He served his country proudly and flew the flag with honor and respect.
He was a barber for 59 years and owned Town Talk Barbershop. He belonged to Knights of Columbus 840 Council, Columbus Club and was a 4th degree Knight. He was a member of the Guadalupe Society and served as President in 1983. He was also a member of 8900 VFW and 509 Post.
All his family will miss his singing Noel and preparing for Christmas, especially his annual "Christmas list". He loved God, his country, family and John Wayne.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Carmen Bencomo; and brother, Richard Bencomo.
He will be greatly missed by Cecelia, his best friend and loving wife of 58 years; daughter, Maria Lamb and her husband Wayne; sons, Victor, Adrian, Julian and Dr. Christopher Bencomo and his wife Maria; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five brothers; three sisters; and many loving family members.
