Thomas Valiant

Thomas moved to Fresno when he was very young he attended Roosevelt High school and met and married his high school sweetheart Betty (DeMorales) Valiant, they were together for 66 years and married for 63 years.

Thomas began his career in the Glass business when he was 15 working for his stepdad Marvin Hare. He continued in the business working for American Glass, Boaz Glass (in Palo Alto, CA), Fresno Glass, United Glass, and San Joaquin Glass (as their top salesman). In 1978 he opened Imperial Glass Company. Imperial Glass Company was his baby. He started with a partner Don Williams, they decided to go their separate ways after 6 years but remained friends. In 1994 Tom purchased land across the street and built a new home for his business.

Tom, was extremely artistic and creative. He was known to be a friend to all, kind-hearted, hard-working, and an outstanding salesman. Wherever he was, he knew someone. He had a great sense of humor too. He was always the life of the party.

In later years Tom became ill and he was forced to slow down and retire. Imperial Glass closed in 2020. The business was never the same after Tom retired, he was the business.

Tom also, loved fishing, hunting, golfing, spending time at his beach house, and working on hot rods. He was good at whatever he did. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an incredible man and will be missed so much by his family and friends.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Betty Valiant; his daughter Sherri Pinasco; his daughter Karen Lystad; and his daughter Susan Valiant. Tom is also survived by his brother Edward Hare; his granddaughter Jenee Hutton, his grandson Garrett Pinasco, his grandson Alfred Lystad, his granddaughter Nicole Greenburg, his grandson Jonathan Lystad, his grandson Tommy Lystad, his great grandchild Kaiden Greenburg, his great grandchild Braxton Hutton, his great grandchild Van Greenburg and his great grandchild Landyn Hutton.

Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter Renee Valiant; his sister Jean Ellis and his sister Barbara Hall.

A Celebration of Thomas' Life will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:30am at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns and Blair Funeral Home 826 E Nees Ave Fresno, CA 93720.
