“Uncle Teddy”
was born on February 4th, 1934 in Faribault, Minnesota to Gus & Maria Boosalis who were the proud owners of Olympia Greek Restaurant. He was the youngest of 8 siblings, all of which he looked up to. Although Ted was not old enough to serve with his brothers in World War II; at 12 years old he would walk daily to the draft office hoping to enlist. His brothers Nick, Mike, John, Bill and George served our country with honor having a five star flag proudly displayed in their parent’s home in Faribault, Minnesota.
Growing up Ted loved numbers, which is what motivated him to receive his BA degree in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1955. With this degree he pursued a career as a stock broker for Paine Webber which later became UBS and thrived with the company for 38 years.
In 1990 he met his beautiful wife Evelyn in Fresno, California of whom he was married to for 25 years. Ted loved to travel with his wife in such places as; Hawaii, Greece, Alaska, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, and many other places in the continental U.S. He also enjoyed successfully trying his luck in Vegas. Ted will be remembered as loving his family, being an avid golfer, and also serving his Greek Orthodox Faith at St. Mary’s in Minneapolis, Minnesota and also later at St. George in Fresno, California.
He was a proud member of The Order of AHEPA, The SIR’s, and was also a Freemason. In 2002 Ted and Evelyn retired and moved from chilly Minneapolis to sunny Clovis, California where he golfed almost year round.
Ted and Evelyn continued to live in Clovis enjoying going to dinner and movies with loved ones until he fell asleep in the lord peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in his home on February 22, 2015.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Nick and George, and his sister Georgia Kootsikas.
Ted is survived by his wife Evelyn; brother’s Mike, John, Bill, and sister Elaine Smith. “Uncle Teddy” was loved and surrounded by numerous nieces and nephews in California, Nebraska, and Minnesota.
