Sharon Ann Marshall, age 57, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:55 a.m. at her home in Pleasanton, CA after a brave and graceful battle with metastatic breast cancer.
She was born on September 7, 1961, in Dos Palos, CA and graduated from McLane High School in Fresno in 1979. An adventuresome spirit, she moved to Southern California at the young age of 18 to work in restaurant management.
Always interested in the finer things, Sharon studied at the Gemology Institute of America in Los Angeles, becoming a certified gemologist in diamonds and colored stones in 1989. Sharon returned to Fresno earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Fresno State University in the mid-90s. A talented jewelry designer and salesperson, Sharon worked for a number of jewelry manufacturers and stores throughout her career before eventually starting her own jewelry business.
Sharon met the love of her life, Dr Joseph Marshall, in Fresno in 1988. They were married on July 4, 1992 in beautiful Kauai and had two wonderful children, Kara and Max. Sharon took great pride in caring for her family and supporting her husband's career. Throughout their marriage, the Marshalls moved frequently, living in four different states: Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa and California. Sharon made deep, meaningful friendships wherever she landed.
Sharon was a Christian with rock-solid faith in Jesus. She treated everyone with kindness and compassion, but remained light-hearted with a quirky sense of humor that her family adored. Fully devoted to raising her children, Sharon made time to enjoy the luxury of this life: dressing elegantly for grand events, hosting parties for family and friends, drinking fine wine and creating beautiful jewelry pieces.
Sharon was preceded in death by her dear sister and best friend Mary Jo Lane; her grandparents, Frank and Polly Costa and Matilda and Louis Loudon.
Sharon will be forever remembered by her husband of 26 years Joe; their precious children Kara and Max; her parents Michael and Barbara Loudon, her sisters Karen and her husband Jerry and Terri and her husband David; her brother Joseph and his wife Gina, and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and dear friends.
A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, Chapel on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
