Sally Chavez Castillo

Sally was born in Oxnard, CA on January 12, 1929. Sally lived in Hollister, CA, Tracy, CA and settled in Fresno, CA to raise her family. After many years of hard work, she retired from Fresno Community Hospital.

She is predeceased by her spouse of 26 years, Jess Vasquez Castillo.

She was a loving and caring mother to their four children, Jesse Jr and spouse Sally Castillo of Fresno, Irene, and spouse Rudy Rey of Clovis, Olivia and spouse Doc Wells of Fresno, and Patricia and spouse Paul Laygo of Clovis. She was a dedicated and proud grandmother to her 11 grandchildren: Ben Castillo, Jesse Castillo Jr. Tracy Rey, Rudy Rey Jr., Stephanie Castillo, Valerie Cantu, Frank Diaz Jr., Stephen Rey, Sabrina Fink, Paul Laygo Jr. and Sarah Jimenez; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Sally’s final years were spent with two angels, Angelica Lopez, and Maria Lopez. Angelica and Maria cared for our mother with love, dignity, and respect. They will both forever be considered a part of Sally’s family and their many years of time and dedication to our mother’s care will never be forgotten.

A funeral service for Sally will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706.

A comital service will be held at St. Peters Cemetery immediately following the funeral service, 264 N. Blythe Ave., Fresno, CA., 93706.
