Ronald “Ron or Ronnie” DeBoer was born in Napa, CA. on December 18, 1942 and passed away on June 29, 2018 in his home in Clovis, CA. Ron was the only child to Claude and Marveda DeBoer. He grew up in Firebaugh and the surrounding area.
Ron graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1960 and moved to Santa Cruz for a brief period of time where he attended college. He then moved back to the valley where he worked, got married, and had two daughters. With his wife Therese they raised their daughters and bought land in Clovis where they had horses, dogs, and everything in between.
He loved animals. There was never a shortage of dogs or cats. He always took his dogs in his truck with him throughout the years. He also had horses that he loved riding and taking back packing. He was notorious for treating the horses to carrots and apples when he went walking. They knew what person was going to give them treats.
Ron loved fishing, hunting, camping and teaching his daughters about it. Being in the mountains and cooking on an open fire brought him a lot of joy. He loved catching fish and then frying them up. He was never shy about loving hunting and bringing home venison or other game he had hunted.
I think most people would describe Ron as generous. He loved cooking way too much food and inviting people over to feast. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone or just talk and laugh. He loved getting the newest movies when they were released and listening to classic rock. He had a great sense of humor.
Ron was preceded in death by both his parents, Claude and Marveda DeBoer.
He is survived by his daughter Dierdra Williams, her husband Jeff, and his daughter Gabrielle Allen, and her husband Brian. Ron had two granddaughters, Madison and Mira that he adored and many friends and family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
