Robert Lee Wright Jr. was born on September 17, 1986, and passed away on March 22, 2024. He leaves behind a vast array of family and friends who loved him dearly, including five beautiful children, Ayniah Carlin, Alisha Wilson, Tysean Wilson, Sinphony Wright, and Robynn Wright.
Robert was born in Oakland, California, and lived there for the first 12 years of his life. He finished growing up in Fresno, California and remained there until the time of his sudden passing. He was raised by his dearly beloved grandmother, Gloria Austin, who was not only his second mother but his best friend. She taught him about the Lord Jesus Christ and the importance of following Him. He grew up believing in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” He did his best to model his life after that biblical reality, which was abundantly demonstrated in the way he loved others.
Relentlessly, fearlessly, and tenaciously he loved those around him and always brought a smile to their faces. He would give the shirt off his back and the food out of his refrigerator to anyone in need. He was an excellent father with a pure heart, desiring only the best for his children. He wanted above all for them to follow God and to be happy. His children were his light and strength as he was theirs.
Robert honored his mother, Katherine Nelson, and loved her unconditionally. He was a complete momma’s boy and would do anything to make her happy. His mother loved him unconditionally as well. Their bond was unmatched and will forever be engraved upon the rhythm of time and eternity.
She misses him immensely, but there will be a day when they will be reunited on the glorious side of eternity.
His sisters and brother miss Robert overwhelmingly. Ro’chel Belcher, the eldest, described his passing as the worst pain she had ever experienced. Danelle Scoggins, the second eldest, was the beat to Robert’s drum. Joe Frank Jr. was Robert’s only brother, but his presence left a permanent imprint on his heart. Sierra Frank, his youngest sister, realizes that Robert took a piece of her heart that can only be retrieved when they meet again in heaven, face to face.
Regarding the rest of the family, time and space cannot hold the monumental impact that Robert had on their lives and vice versa. To his nieces, Naki BatYah and Isla Scoggins, Robert loved you very much. To his uncles Sterling Crayton, Eddie Savage, Cleo, Fonzo, and James Nelson, you left a notable impact on Robert’s life. To his aunties Antoinette Nelson, Belinda Savage, Phyllis Nelson, and Chivella Sanders the love you had for Robert was therapeutic and brought many sunny days. To Robert Knight, Everett Belcher, Clarence Curtis Jr, Isaac Scoggins, Alan Johnson Jr., Alan Johnson III, Shawn Williams, Andrew Morgan, Mariah Hill, Alffedia Wilson, Queensha Durham, and countless others, collectively you brought joy and laughter to Robert’s life.
