He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cole and his daughter, Deborah Cole-Anderson.
Robert is survived by his grandchildren, Dutch Mahan and Danielle Powers, and his great-grandchildren.
After serving in the Navy during World War II, Robert and Mary moved to Fresno, California. For over 40 years, Robert served as a junior high school teacher and a basketball referee. Robert loved sports, history, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Robert was a generous, loving and caring man, who will be dearly missed.
A graveside service for Robert will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.
