He attended St. Therese Catholic School K-8th, graduating in 1982. Thereafter, he attended Fresno High School.
As a youth while attending St. Therese School, Robert was on the school soccer and baseball teams. Later in life some of his other interests included, deep sea fishing, listening to music, dancing, watching movies and football. His favorite NFL team was the Raiders. He worked as a delivery truck driver and for the Laborers Union in Fresno. Robert possessed a playful sense of humor along with a razor-sharp memory.
Robert was a loving son, brother and father. He was preceded in death by his brother Raul Chavez; father Jesse Chavez and mother Stella Chavez. He is survived by his daughter Adriana Chavez; brother Richard Chavez; sisters Rebecca Mestas, Juanita Aranaz, Rachel Rivera and Rhonda Caprioglio and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.
A recitation of the Holy Rosary (9:30 a.m.) and Mass of Christian Burial (10:00 a.m.) will be held in his honor on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Shrine of St.Therese Church, located at 855 E. Floradora Avenue Fresno, California. The Interment is to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery at 264 N. Blythe Avenue Fresno, California.
