Robert was born in El Centro, California on October 27, 1935 and passed away in Fresno, California on March 16, 2012 at the age of 76.
He left school early and worked as a farm laborer to help his family. In 1960 he began working for Mission Bell Winery in Madera from which he retired after forty years in 2000. Robert and Dolores Armenta were married by the justice of the peace in Madera on August 17, 1959 and were blessed with a 52 1/2 year marriage.
Robert is preceded in death by his siblings, Manuel Castro, Ernest Castro, and Eddie Castro; and his son, Robert "Rocky" Castro. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Castro, four sisters, Edelia Navarro, Sally Moreno, Virginia Armenta and Elena Zaragosa; four brothers, Rudy Castro, Ralph Castro, Michael Barajas, and Alfonso Barajas; and two daughters, Janelle Seibert and her husband Ray, and Pearl Castro. His pride and joy were his three grandchildren, Jared Long, Taylor Long, and Nicole Nadeau.
