Rita Alvarez Acosta

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Acosta, and her son Reuben Acosta.

Rita is survived by her son James Acosta II, daughters Christina Ortega and her husband Ed, Gloria Acosta, Rosemary Gonzales, Cynthia Morales and her husband Lyle, all of Fresno, and daughter Rosalinda Vasquez of Sanger.

Rita is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Rita worked for Del Monte in Fresno and retired after 25 years. She was also a member of the VFW Post 8900 Women’s Auxiliary.

Rita enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting, and cooking for her family. She always loved when family stopped by for a visit. Often saying, “Oh my goodness, look who’s here.” Rita also enjoyed making snap chat videos.

Rita was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ali M Fayed for taking such good care of our mom for so many years. We would also like to thank the staff from Hinds Hospice. Thank you to each and every one of you who has called, texted, and/or visited us, before, during, and after this tough time.
