Richard "Ron" Frazier passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Fresno, California. Ron was born in Long Beach, California on November 19, 1929. He was the son of William A. Frazier and Laura F. Frazier. Ron graduated from Excelsior High School, Norwalk, Ca. in 1948. He attended college at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Ca. His college education was interrupted with two years of service in the Korean War. In 1952 he married Marlene A. Ferrini of San Luis Obispo, Ca. When he completed his tour of service in the United States Army, he returned to Cal Poly to graduate in Agriculture in 1956 and he was President of the Alumni Association.
After graduation he was offered a position in the Wasco, Ca. area as a chemical, agricultural, salesman with Valley Nitrogen Producers. He covered a large part of southern and central California from the Wasco home base. After a few years he was promoted to Sales Manager and moved to their main office in Fresno. After some years with V.N.P. he then decided to take an offer to be Manager of Panoche Chemical Company, Firebaugh, Ca. Following this he was offered and accepted a sales position as representative for the Western States in Ag Chemicals and Wine Curing for Nalco Chemical Co., Chicago, IL. He worked for this company until retirement.
In retirement years he again was offered an opportunity to put together a plan and execute it in checking airplanes for California Aircraft Assn. for drift control. He put together a computer program and pursued this operation for several years.
His greatest interests were agriculture, playing golf and horses.
Ron is survived by his wife, Marlene; daughter, Jan Marie McGaffin; son, Dr. Douglas J.Frazier; three grandchildren, Ryan McGaffin, Keely McGaffin and Taylor McCall Haught Frazier; brother-in-law, Felton Ferrini; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Terkiedsen; one niece, Elizabeth Katsaris and her husband Anthony and family; and nephew, Matthew Ferrini and family.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, on Thursday, January 17, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Friday, January 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m.
