Olga Kuber

Olga Kuber, a devoted mother, grandmother and most recently, great-grandmother, was born on August 12, 1922 to Catherine and Wasil Maksimchak in Wood, Pennsylvania. She was called home to our Lord on November 14, 2015 in Clovis, California.

She was a member of the "Greatest Generation." Olga was seven years old at the start of the Great Depression, and 19 at the start of World War II. She met her husband, Zygmund Stanley Kuber a few years after the war in Newark, New Jersey, and they were married in 1949. Stan's work with Westinghouse required multiple relocations. Together they raised four children in Bell, California; Dublin, California; Spokane, Washington; and Lakewood, California. Widowed in 1973, Olga continued her life's work as a mother and homemaker. In 1980 she moved to Clovis, California. Everywhere she called home, she embraced family and friends, and will be remembered for her warm smile and welcoming demeanor.

She loved her family, books, and travel. Most recently she had the opportunity to travel in May to meet her first great-granddaughter, Sage, in Spokane, Washington.

Olga was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Zygmund Stanley Kuber, (1922-1973), her parents, and seven siblings.

She is survived by her brother, Andy Maksimchak; her children: Peter Kuber, Linda Kuber, Ron Kuber and wife Connie, and Paul Kuber; her seven grandchildren: Michael Kuber and his significant other Cortney Owens, Catharine Perry and husband Kyle, Robert Kuber and wife Shelsea, Christopher Kuber, Ashley Kuber, Tyler Kuber and Madeline Kuber; and one great-granddaughter, Sage Kuber.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 2015, at the St Paul Catholic Newman Center (1572 E. Barstow Ave., Fresno, CA 93710) from 11am to 2pm, followed by a Rosary at 2:15pm, and Mass of Christian Burial at 3pm.
