Lord please pick a bunch

Place them in my moms arms
And tell her they are from me

And miss her
And when she turns to smile

Because remembering her

I do it everyday
But there is an ache
Within my heart
That will never go away!

Grandma Nettie will forever be in my heart. I will miss her dearly. The time ive spent will her i will cherish for the rest of my life. The day she met my daughter Heaven was the most joyful day of my life. To see 5 generations in and around her home will be my favorite memory. Ill always remember Easter at her home, she let us have an easter egg hunt. But in reality she didnt want us to because she didnt want us to ruin her flowers/plants. Unfortunately i spent most of my time with Gma Nettie towards the end. I wish i could have been there more often. Gma Nettie knew how much i loved her even when she'd ask me a hundred times "Who are you?" May you rest in paradise. Gone but never forgotten! 

It was an honor and joy to have been with mom the past few years.  We got to know each other very well.  Mom was our strength and comfort.  So often I would think of all the fun times mom gave us and the commitment she made to make sure we were loved and cared for.  People would say to me, "your mom is lucky to have you in her life", but my response was "I am the lucky one",  to have the honor to know a woman with so much pride and desire to raise her kids as best she could.  She loved her gardening and cared so much for her two cats, "Chula, and Mona".  Life was very clear to her, take care of her garden and yard, and to love her cats.  Mom "I love you very much, and will miss you always".  Your legacy is us, and I intend to keep your memory alive by staying in the home you loved very much.  

When she made tortillas she got a rhythm going so that rolling the dough the wooden roller hitting the table had a beat.  I remember being in the backyard watching her and Hope wash clothes with one of those washers that had rollers to squeeze the excess water out.  The swamp cooler was on the wall in the living room area in front of a table, the place to sit to cool off.  I love you Aunt Nettie, memories of being at your house (always wanted to hang around Art) make me smile.


My condolences to our family, on the loss of dear cousin Nettie. My sister, Frances, sends her condolences as well. May Nettie rest in Heavenly peace. ❤️

She made the best balogne sandwich ever. My brother and I went to visit her, this was years ago, and she made us a sandwich. I sat there thinking, as I was eating, this is the best balogne sandwich I've ever had. It had gobs of mayo. The lettuce was so fresh. A big slice of tomato. And a thick slice of balogne. ❤
