Nancy died December 26,2016, of complications from breast cancer with her family at her side.
Nancy was born, the first child, of Rev. Floyd and Harriet (Scott) Feaver in Fort Brag, Ca., where he was the Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church , Mendocino Ca. Until graduation from High School she was to live in five more cities. She graduated High School, finally, in Chowchilla, Ca in 1961. After another move To Fresno, she enrolled in Fresno City College, graduating with an Associate of Arts and an RN degree . After college she worked in the Pediatric Department of Fresno Community Hospital for fifteen years. At this point in her life she felt called to serve with Volunteers in Mission in Beirut Lebanon. Her job was to set up a Pediatric Department in the Humana Hospital outside the city. Instead the war made her a Surgical Nurse patching up people from both sides treated there. As the war progressed, feeling it was too dangerous for her to stay, Ben Weir brought her out of Lebanon and she returned to Fresno with all plans to return as things improved. Instead she met the Music Director for the University Presbyterian Church, Fresno and they were married
Dick and Nancy adopted three beautiful children; Vera, the oldest, is now Mrs. Scott Jackson, with three boys, Austin, Jacob and David; Matthew, the second, has cerebral palsy and attends Fresno UCP; and the youngest,Stephanie is the mother of Lillian and Scarlet and shares duties with Reuben Garcia
Nancy’s love of her life was her family, especially her children and her grandchildren, just ask their mothers. She will be missed by all but probably most by her husband. We rejoice she is now in a better place free from the cancer that sought to limit her. Besides her immediate family she is survived by brother Dr. Paul Feaver, and brother-in-law Charles Cencibaugh. Two other siblings Liz Feaver and Tim Feaver and her parents preceded her in death.
