Nadine K. Jacobsen was born on February 11, 1918 in Taft, California and died on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Reedley, California.
She married Henry K. Jacobsen on January 20, 1940 at Bethel Danish Lutheran Church in Fresno, California. Together they owned and operated the popular Fresno eatery The Oak Leaf Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge until they retired in 1982.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband and her only sister Jean E. Sutherland of Madera, California. She is survived by her children Jackie J. Mowrey and her husband Jim of Kingsburg, California, and Jim H. Jacobsen and his wife Arlene of Fresno, California; granddaughters, Victoria Anderson, Michelle Conley, Suzanne Smith, Terra Ahlman, Amy Jacobsen, Kylie Jacobsen and Suzie Costa; great-grandsons, Brian Anderson, Bill Anderson, Jordan Martin, Jared Martin, Josh Ahlman and Casey Smith; great-granddaughters, Malia Hager, Lauren Martin, Mikayla Hoffmann and Tayah Lopez; and great-great granddaughter, Colbie Hubbard and sister-in-law, Ruth Low of Clovis, California. Nadine also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Nadine was a much-loved by both family and friends and will be sorely missed though we know that she’s in her Heavenly Home. A Memorial Service will be held at the Bethel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Any memorial gifts may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 187 N.
