Michael Alexander Grissom

Alex was born March 29, 2000 in Clovis, CA to Jason and Patty Grissom. He was their first born. Alex was always so full of life and had so much love and compassion in his heart for animals. At a very young age he always said he wanted to be a veterinarian for reptiles. He moved to Madera Ranchos with his family when he was 4 years old. Alex was one of the friendliest kids to all and so many loved him in the community. He played soccer and baseball at a young age but was more interested in what parents were bringing for snack and being with friends. He joined Cub Scouts when he was in first grade as a Bear Cub and continued to Boy Scouts. He enjoyed going on all the camping trips with the Boy Scouts and his brother Brandon who was also a Scout. He was also in 4H for many years and FFA all through High School. He loved being on the Vet Science Team and traveling to compete with all his classmates. He was very proud when he received his State Degree as was his family. He really enjoyed when his teacher asked him back after he graduated to be a judge.

Alex was such a hard worker. He got his first job senior year at Rocket Dog. He really enjoyed working and buying his own things. He liked cars, shoes and really enjoyed live concerts. He even traveled to a couple different states for concerts. Alex really enjoyed going to college. He always talked about his Animal Science and Biology classes and quickly made friends who shared the same interest for animals. He earned his AS Degree in Animal Biology and was attending Fresno State. Last summer he got a job with the recommendation of one of his professors to do environmental survey work. He loved being outdoors everyday and got to travel also. He had so many hopes and dreams for traveling to other countries to see exotic animals. He loved his family and his friends very much. Alex loved to cook. His favorite thing to cook was rib eye steak & ribs. He also enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies.

Alex is survived by his parents Patty and Jason, brother Brandon, sister Jacquie and his dog Jessie.

A visitation for Alex will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720, followed by a celebration of life from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
